Power Chains
The bands have come off the first molars. Yay! Now I have power chains so that the gaps made by the bands will close. Dr. Schrodi made sure that they are not too tight, just tugging a tiny little bit. I have to pay attention that the now free molars are not moving inward or outward which they sometimes do. If they do, I have to call her immediately for an emergency appointment.
I love the color of my power chains, it's a light purple. The ortho assistant complimented me on the choice.

I have a question: are "power chains" the same thing as the Six month Power Braces I keep hearing about?
I haven't heard about the six month power braces, but from the name it sounds like they are something different.
It also sounds a bit more... scary. Though there shouldn't be any significant difference in the level of discomfort during the first few weeks. Purple is cool, but light blue looks more awesome!
